Poisson d’Avril!

Today is “April Fish” Day in France, when kids paste paper fish on the backs of their unsuspecting friends. Pranks are king, but French children  yell “April Fish” instead of April Fool’s Day. A funny twist.

Today is also the start of National Poetry Month and the Poem A Day (PAD) poetry challenge, sponsored by Robert Brewer at his Poetic Asides blog. It’s been three years since I last participated. Wish me luck as I attempt to write a poem each day in the month of April. These will be first drafts, raw and simple. Enjoy!
